We are pleased to welcome two Postdoctoral Researchers to our group: Christine Lietz and Selin Akpinar Adscheid, who are both in the final stages of completing their doctoral dissertations.

Christine Lietz is a pharmacist and conducted her doctoral research in Pharmacology and Toxicology at the Friedland Research Lab, under the supervision of Prof. Friedland. Her work focused on the impact of plant extracts on the post-transcriptional modification m¹A involved in mitochondrial complex I dysfunction in Alzheimer’s disease, in collaboration with Dr. Willmar Schwabe GmbH. This research was supported through the Phyto Innovation Challenge, with contributions from the Helm group and the Friedland Research Lab.

Selin Akpinar Adscheid is a chemist and has completed her doctoral research in Biopharmacy and Pharmaceutical Technology as a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions PhD Fellow within the Bio2Brain project. Her work was carried out at MyBiotech GmbH in collaboration with Saarland University, where she is supervised by Prof. Marc Schneider. Her research focused on the formulation and scalable production of polymeric nanoparticles for nose-to-brain delivery applications. As part of the Bio2Brain network, she also completed research and training stays at Queen Mary University of London (UK) and the European Laboratory for Non-Linear Spectroscopy (Italy).

We are excited to have them join our team and look forward to their contributions!
