We are pleased to share that Dr. Selin Akpinar Adscheid, postdoctoral researcher in the Friedland Lab, was selected for the Falling Walls Female Science Talents Intensive Track, an international leadership and networking programme for outstanding early-career women in science organized by the Falling Walls Foundation. The programme brings together 20 women in science selected from more than 600 applicants worldwide.

As part of the programme, Selin recently attended the International Spring Gathering in Berlin, where participants engaged in interdisciplinary discussions spanning science, global health, entrepreneurship, policy, and gender. The gathering created a space for exchange across disciplines and perspectives, highlighting the importance of collaboration and innovation at the intersections between fields.

The year-long programme supports emerging women leaders in science through mentoring, workshops, and international networking opportunities. The Female Science Talents programme is supported by partners including Bayer Foundation, The Elsevier Foundation, VolkswagenStiftung, and Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) – German Research Foundation.
